Elementary School Prototype

The School District of Lee County

This new, two-story design for an elementary school prototype has been successfully adapted to meet the needs of the Lee County Public School District for many different locations. The prototypes vary in size to accommodate from 600 to 1300 students.

The core facility of the prototype design includes administration offices, the media center, classrooms, the cafetorium, and an art lab and music suite. A conscious effort was made to help provide security to the entire school by creating separate public access to the media center and dining hall for after hours operation.

This prototype has been used multiple times for schools across Lee County, including:

  • Ray V. Pottorf and Harns Marsh elementary schools (2004)
  • Riverhall  Elementary School (2005)
  • Patriot and Manatee elementary schools (2006)
  • Heights and Treeline elementary schools (2008)
  • Michigan and G. Weaver Hipps (2009, designed but not built)
  • Tortuga Preserve elementary school (2012)
